  1. I was diagnosed with pronation in both of my feet, the right foot being a bit more severe than the left.....had orthotics made for my shoes, and they make a huge difference in my shoes. The problem being that they dont fit in my skates. Playing at a competitive level (college club acha) after practices or games pain develops along the outsides of my feet just below my little toes to about an inch. I have yellow superfeet in a pair of x60's that seem to provide some help, but not enough. To correct my pronation, would a gift card (for a shim) be too thick? I was told that my pronation was severe by an podiatrist.

  2. thats why you have to pair a QUALIFIED veteran ref with a new ref regardless if they are kids or not. The kid has to learn sometime and I would rather a ref learn correctly on a mite or squirt game than a rookie adult learning in a checking PeeWee or Bantam game. You should also have to have a few seasons under your belt before reffing an adult game.

I was a ref for two years, but I quit this year because of this. At first I was assigned mites, and squirts, with another first year. We didn't have a clue as to what to call, if it was an accident or intentional. It was a real mess out there...

  3. When I was a level 2 all I wore were a pair of black pants with old shin pads, and just some black ua and the ref jersey. Just watch your hands when you drop the puck with the little guys, and look behind you when you are backing up from the faceoff, dont want to run one of the youngsters over.
