  1. I played club hockey.....we had to pay to play, but what I did get out of it were a group of friends that will last a lifetime. Granted club hockey is no D1 NCAA program, we were still away on weekends and had to miss an occasional class to make it to some games. Everyone on the team played for the love of the game. With this in mind, I'm not sure why people want to pay NCAA D1 Athletes. I mean how many D1 hockey players end up going on to play in a paid league and make a career of the game? I'm sure all those guys out there playing D1 are having the absolute times of their lives playing great hockey while getting a heavily discounted education. If they are god enough - they will eventually get paid.
  2. I was diagnosed with pronation in both of my feet, the right foot being a bit more severe than the left.....had orthotics made for my shoes, and they make a huge difference in my shoes. The problem being that they dont fit in my skates. Playing at a competitive level (college club acha) after practices or games pain develops along the outsides of my feet just below my little toes to about an inch. I have yellow superfeet in a pair of x60's that seem to provide some help, but not enough. To correct my pronation, would a gift card (for a shim) be too thick? I was told that my pronation was severe by an podiatrist.
  3. Just saw your harrow gloves with the Mav's embroidered on the cuff....do you play for Medaille? I played for Gannon until we just sucked it hard, and folded. How are u guys doing so far, had a good team.

  5. I was a ref for two years, but I quit this year because of this. At first I was assigned mites, and squirts, with another first year. We didn't have a clue as to what to call, if it was an accident or intentional. It was a real mess out there...
  6. When I was a level 2 all I wore were a pair of black pants with old shin pads, and just some black ua and the ref jersey. Just watch your hands when you drop the puck with the little guys, and look behind you when you are backing up from the faceoff, dont want to run one of the youngsters over.
  7. Funny stuff, when I was at the local pro shop, they had heeps of those gloves. ( I Can walk to Depew, NY) The guy said they were Eagle gloves.......but we all know they are not. I tried them on, yes they have a nice feel, very fine thin palm, it felt as if they would last only a few games. Would I pay $80 for them..no way.
