kasparaitis 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2005 I can get a sheet of ice (rental) for a pretty good price, and was wondering if anyone wants to play pickup on a regular basis? I can get the ice Mon-Thurs from 10:15pm until 11:45pm. Thats the only down side, unless you're a night person like I am. I want to get at least 20 players. If we get less than 20, we'll just have to chip in a few bucks more. I already have approximately 10 guys who are ready to play, along with 2 goalies(more are welcome). I just need to fill in the remainder, or get a few more than 10, just in case people don't show. Anyone interested?
Fletch 219 Report post Posted June 20, 2005 What area of socal?
kasparaitis 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2005 We'll be playing in the Anaheim area off the 91fwy. I think I read some of your posts before saying you play at Healthsouth right? I could be way off. Anyhow, If you're interested, It shouldn't be to much of a drive for you. Out of the 10guys I have coming in, the farthest is from Carlsbad. And I have a few coming from Pasadena and Redondo beach.ps - skill level will vary. We'll do our best as a group to place better players against better players. No buzzers or anything, I'd just like people to go hard and change when tired. This way, everyone gets plenty of ice time while maintaining flow in the game. Johnny Confident 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2005 Is it at Glacial Gardens Anaheim? Or Disney Ice?
jay 1 Report post Posted June 21, 2005 I may join depending on the day. I play inline on thursdays and may be joining a tuesday team.
kasparaitis 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2005 It's up in the air right now, but these are the rinks it might be at. Glacial Gardens Anaheim, Artesia, and maybe Disney Ice. That's why I said "Anaheim" because the city is pretty big. As for the night, a specific day isn't set. I guess we can take a poll, and have it set for that day every week. Of course, this is if we want to keep it continious. Most of the other guys I have, are open for most of the days I listed.

jay 1 Report post Posted June 21, 2005 I start a tuesday league tonight so I won't be able to make it on a tues or thurs. I may do an occasional wednesday but 3 days in a row kicks my ass. I'd definitely be game for a monday evening skate though. Is the Artesia you're talking about the new rink near the 91/605 interchange?

Per rink rules, everything else is required. If you haven't skated in a while, I'd recommend finding a pair of pants. Or, if you don't think you'll be on your butt a lot, wear some sweats, and always wear a CUP.As far as the day, it sounds like Monday nights work for everyone. I'll send an email out to the rest of the guys and see if Mondays are good. If you guys want to PM me your email address. I'll send out a group email with the details. If we keep the roster at 20 + 2 goalies, the price will be lower per person. Deadboy, I have your email down. Everyone else, please PM me with yours. We still need more people, so if you guys know anyone who's interested in playing, by all means, invite them, and PM me with their email address. This way, they get included on the posts.

Fletch 219 Report post Posted June 23, 2005 Damn, that rink looks really nice. And it's only 11 miles away from my house :)I'd play there for sure. I wish they had pick-up on more nights than just one though (Saturday).
