Fury of One

Gonchar signs with Penguins

Recommended Posts

I'd like to see the pens get rid of everyone except Fleury and Chiodo and try and get Jose Theodore from MTL, if that is a possibility. I'm so stoked about Gonchar though. Lookin good for the Pens!

Fleury will NOT be a bust. I'm tellin ya, havin Mario, Crosby, Recchi practicing with him all the time is going to make him a freak in the net. In a good way. :D

Why would you keep Fleury and Chiodo AND go after Theo....or did I read that wrong.

apparently it will cost the pens alot of money to buyout malkins contract, the anticipated ihhf agreement has yet to be reached... Penguins are gonna be great, they need 1 or two more top line players.. I think kariya will be coming, maybe Modano. As far as defense goes, the pens have a bundle of bright defensive prospects who should contribute this year....Ryan Whitney, Noah Welch, Brooks Oprik, Ric Jackman, Sergei Gonchar, Dick Tarnstrom, maybe Rob Scuderi should be on the blue line this year.

I love how Pittsburgh has all this money all of a sudden.

Some cynics might say the pens are putting a team on the ice they can't afford so they can loose money and make it easier to move when the lease expires at the end of next season. Hey, we tried but we just can't afford to be here anymore.

MAF is better than CuJo.

Whats up with Chiodo, they won't keep him as a 3rd stringer when he could back-up or contend for a starters job would they?

Better to let him get games in the AHL than back up in the NHL. It's always better for young guys to play.
