Mission Hex 1

I finally got a pair of L7's yesterday, I will put up a review once I get to skate in them for a couple months. But my initial thought is they are going to rock...

Anyway, I went to register them for the stick promo and I was looking forward to getting the Rafalski pattern because I am currently using a Sakic. Unfortunately I found that pattern wont be out until October...so I went with Hatcher. This isnt listed in the Pattern Database, but does anyone know how close it will be to a Sakic pattern? Most importantly I like the 5.5 lie...but that isnt listed on the website.

Thanks

I sent an email to Customer service with the following:

question: "Why is it that the Hex 1 page shows a Rafalski blade pattern, but when I ordered my promo stick that blade pattern isnt an option? Dont you think you should at least be up front about what choices of sticks you get with the skate purchase? I am hoping the Hatcher, if I even get that one, is close to the Rafalski."

Customer service's response:

Dave,

The reason Rafalski isn't a part of the promo is that it won't be available until October, and wouldn't meet our 8 - 10 week shipping timeframe. If you'd like to wait until that timeframe for your stick, I can certainly place the order for a Rafalski pattern for you.

We certainly were up front with what we have available to ship in a timely manner...

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your email.

Brand Director, Mission Hockey

The choices are on the last page of the registration form.

Here are the choices, incase anyone else is getting in on the promo:

Elias 5/16 Heel

Hatcher 1/2 Mid Open

Hull 1/2 Heel

Riberio 1/4 Heel

According to Mission Customer service the Hatcher is a 6 lie. I am going to hopefully get my order changed to the Rafalski.

Any one ever notice how little information customer service gives you. Its like they have secrets, and if you dont ask the right questions you wont get the total answer. Anyway, I gave up and just asked them to change my order and I will wait.

This would have never happened if they had just posted the stick lies online, or better yet let me know up front what patterns were available then I would have known before I registered for the promo...

Either way the Hex1's felt pretty damn good in the store...hope they feel the same on the ice.

They are light years ahead of any other hockey company I have sent requests too, as I rarely get any response from them at all.

And they are at least giving me an option to get what I really want.

I currently have a hatcher, sackic, and sackic wood blade in my rotation. I am not to sure about the ribero curve but i find the switch between any of my blades fairly easy.

THe differnces tho (for me anyway):

hatcher: hard to lift the puck up high (but still fairly easy)- harder to shot a slapper(for me)

sackic: easy to shot a slapper- easier to raise the puck

THat is just for me tho. I find the switch quite easily to adjust to.

By the way, the hatcher is shorter in length and is not as open as a sackic (SL).
