Need for a profile?

How do you tell if your skates need to be profiled? My skates were in the hands of a terrible sharpener for a couple of weeks (just went back and forth on the wheel not paying attention at all) and my balance feels wierd now. i'm not sure if this is just mental or a problem I need to have fixed. Is there any way to tell by looking at my skates?
