Vapor XV shaft durability?

Recommended Posts

I used a Vapor XX OPS for a while and loved it. Unfortunatley it snapped at the tapered part after about 2 months. I can't afford to buy a new OPS every two months so I've decided to go back to two-piece sticks so that if it breaks, I at least have to replace only one half of it. Since I liked the XX so much I'm considering getting an XV shaft, but I'm wondering what the durability on those is. I read the three reviews and it sounds like they hold up pretty well. Does anyone else have any opinions about the durability of the XV?

I also love mine. It's held up really well. I actually haven't had any issues with the grip peeling off like others have had though. I looked at all the tapered shafts when I got this and really like this one more then the others that were available. It's a really nice shaft.

I was a OPS user for years and was sick of spendig so much money. I have been using the XV for a while now and love it! I just got the new bauer 7500 blades w/ short hosel to go in there and they are so much better feeling than any comp blade I've tried and I've tried them all. The xv is solid as hell and the it's really not so much the grip peeling as a fine layer of sticker stuff on top which has mostly peeled off by now to reveal a nice smooth, yet still grippy surface. WIll buy again and again!
