capes921 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2005 hey guys, 3 months ago i broke my ankle in a summer league game, slid into the boards and bent it wrong. 3 weeks later i ended up getting a plate and 5 screws put in because something moved out of place. i'm just finally getting out of all the casts and braces i had to wear and the doctors okayed me to start skating. i'm riding the bike and doing rehab to get my legs back in shape, but i want to start skating so my muscules can get back in shape by the time my high school leagues start. i play both ice and roller, and i can't decide which is better to start skating on first. any help on what to do would be awesome. thanks everybody
ktang 34 Report post Posted September 4, 2005 I did the same thing last Nov., and I was back on the ice early Jan. I made sure to do all the rehab work first, though. They removed the metalwork in May, and I was playing again by mid June. It's much more comfortable, for me, not to have the plates and screws.
Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted September 4, 2005 I skated on ice to get back, but I was mid-season and not nearly as bad a break. Grab a tensor band for your ankle, only use it for games, it'll help.
