Hex-1

Recommended Posts

To any Hex-1 owners, what is your experience of the flex rating? Stiffer? Flexier?

While searching thru some posts, one poster described it as stiffer than stated.

Mission Hex-1

I plan to get one and was unsure of which flex to get after reading that post.

My current sticks are:

Inno 1100 tapered-260

Mission M2 - 85

Flex wise, to me, the inno feels just a touch better than the M2.

What are your thoughts?

Thanx. :)

I have a Ribeiro 85 and it feels much stiffer than any 85 I've ever seen. Every hex in my shop is the same way, grip or regular. Get the Hex 85 and it should be very close to the 260 flex.

Kinda off topic, but how do you like the Ribeiro curve Chadd? Is it pretty similar to the your custom christian pattern?

It's more open and has more curve. It also plays much more like a 5.5 lie. Mine is at least an inch shorter than my L2/christian #1 and I wear the hell out of the heel on my Ribeiro.

I am familiar with the manufacturer of Mission sticks, Aldila, and yes they are stiffer. A 85 flex can feel like a 100 flex of another brand.

The L-2, M-2, and M-1's shafts are all made by Aldila, but I'm pretty sure I remember Justin saying they got a new manufacturer for the shaft of the Hex-1. Maybe I'm wrong but I think I remember seeing that.

Hmm, I may have to pick one of those up. I've actually found myself opening up the blades I bought from you just a bit, and I wear them more on the toe than anywhere else. I seem to recall someone mentioning that Mission was going to make the l-2 in the Ribeiero, do you know if that is true?

I believe it's in the catalog but my price list only had them listed in the combos. I assume you can buy them in singles.

Thanks Chadd,

Seems that between what you've said and the post I found, thats it's not just an isolated incident.
