looking for an "all purpose" skate

I was wondering if there was a boot that was relatively half-decent performance wise, but durable enough to be used outside with a swap of the wheels?

Any boot you use is going to get beat to hell if you use it outside. I just use an old pair outdoors, and save my good ones for the rink.

I would say any boot that fits and feels very comfortable is good enough. If you're playing outside for fun or pickup, you don't need fancy skates.

Unless you playin in an outdoor league and wanna spruce up, try a mid - level skate that offers some nice features, but you wouldn't mind scuffing up.

those old vapor skates were good for outdoors and could take some beating.. if you use any of the new models these days even the high end ones you'll rip them to hell if you call. it's a lot lighter with the new stuff but i find the older skates are better for outdoor hell... most of the new skates these days don't even have that thick plastic on the side of the boot near the toe.
