That is so increadably sad to hear. This kid was such an increadable prospect and through no fault of his own he is forced to call it quits far too soon. I still remember his stellar play with the Ice and being the main reason Kootenay was hyped to win the cup the year he ended up playing in NY. I hope this kid finds something else in his life.

It's kind of sad to see someone this young give up like this. I think he could have come back from it and proved us all wrong... :(

That would be one hard decision. I'm guessing most of you dream/dreamed to play in the NHL? This kid had it made, he was first round pick, he was with a great youtng NYR core, and one small incident ended it. It's a shame he has to go, he had a bright future, and did all he could to come back. I can only wish him the best of luck and to enjoy a post hockey life.
