Major league Roller Hockey Super League Announces Tryouts

Carolina, Virginia Wings and DC Mad Dogs to host free agent camps

With the start of a new season less than two months away, several MLRH

Super league teams have announced free agent tryouts over the next few

weeks as they get ready for the new campaign.

The highly successful Carolina franchise, who finished first in the

regular season before falling to New York in the playoffs will hold

tryouts on Sunday, October 1 at the Dream Sports Center in Apex, NC

(suburban Raleigh). Carolina has reached an agreement to play at the

glitzy Dream Sports facility for the 2005-06 season. Interested players

are asked to phone Chris Street at 919 946-5918 or e-mail

chris@outlawzhockey.com There will be a $20 fee for free agent

tryouts.

The DC Mad Dogs tryouts are set for Saturday, October 8 at the Capital

Clubhouse in Waldorf MD. League officials have indicated that a formal

announcement will be made shortly and that Mad Dogs will move to the

new state-of-the-art facility in Waldorf for the 2005-06 season. The

Mad Dog tryout is set for noon-2:30 p.m. Free agents are invited to

contact the MLRH office for additional information at 703 535-5996 or

The Virginia Wings open their camp on March 15 at the Winchester

SportsPlex in Winchester, VA. While the expansion Wings finished dead

last in their debut season, Coach Chuck Foster believes the Wings can

turn things around in year two. The crusty coach proved to be a fan

favorite in Virginia and managed to keep the team motivated despite a

1-11 record. The Wings tryouts are set for 1-4:00 PM.

The tryout fee is $30 for the Mad Dogs and Wings. Free agents can

attend both camps for a one-time $50 fee. For information on the DC

and Virginia tryouts, players are asked to contact the MLRH office at
