A new rangers acquisition

Recommended Posts

I heard on the radio that Fedor Fedorov has been traded to NY for Balej and a draft pick.

I hope to see Fedor becoming like his older brother. He'll definately help NY this year.

I know, but did he had the chance to play on the 1-2 lines or was he playing on the 4th(3-6mins of ice time) all the time. He never played on the 1-2 for the few games I've seen from him.

He isn't capable of playing anything below the 2nd line, but most people have better first and second line forwards than him. It'll be tough for him to stick around in the NHL.

He is much bigger then Sergei, has similar playing style, great balance and skating stride... When you see him for the first 30 seconds - carrying the puck, skating, playing- you think:"Oh! He's good!" But then... nothing happens:( He very rarely creates a dangerous moment in front of the opposition net. It's weird!

PS What happened to Steve Kariya?

Yes it is

I can't figure out why Slats would make this deal. There's more of a chance Balej makes something of himself, he is regarded as the better prospect, AND he gave up the conditional.

Sather makes deals because he doesn't know any better, almost makes me miss Trader Phil...the further we get away from the 80's..the more it appears those teams won in spite of him...

He reminds me of Berezin. I was under the impression, at the time of the trade, he was their number one prospect, ahead of Higgins, Perezhogan and Plekanik.

Kovy nobody in Brantford hates Gretzky. He got alot of attitude from all of the hockey parents because he played on so many teams and was so good, but its a much different situation. People disliked him because he was so talented and killing their kids. People hate FedFed because he wants a first or second line role and won't learn to play anything else, yet he's not talented enough to do it and people see him pissing away his oppurtunities.

Why does he left Brantford if nobody hate him?

When he was 14, he decided that the pressure of playing in his small hometown was too great and jealous players and parents made him unhappy. He decided to move to Toronto and there he played for the Toronto Nats from http://www.legendsofhockey.net:8080/Legend...&page=bio&list=

I like 20 minutes away from Brantford, he is their hero. Don't forget, playing in Brantford, you play against the same loop. Playing in Toronto, you play against a completely different set of people. I'm sure there were jealous people in Brantford, I shouldn't have said "nobody," but to compare the jealousy of people in his hometown to FedFed being put down by all of his coaches isn't close at all. He was able to escape the parents he played against consistantly, and get a greater look in Toronto and more oppurtunities to play agaisnt better competition.

Now that Gretz makes it, he is a hero but not when he was young. And the only comparison with Fedor is that, because he hasn't do anything yet, he's a zero but if he makes something good than everybody will say that they know Fedor was that good.

And I know everything with Gretzky was jealousy but even some of his teammates were jealous.

How can you even say they are similar? People hated Gretz because he was so good, if you even believe they did, where people hate Fedor because he's so bad. You have to realize that if 100 people love you, but 1 hates you, that 1 person can drive you to leave. It just depends on what they do and how you react to it. Your using Gretzky's talent against him, while using it to put Fedor's lack of talent up. They were disliked for opposite reasons.

please do not compare ff to gretz...

ff is amazing.  he shows dashes of excellence but general lee speaking, really disapointing.  we canucks fans are not a big fan.

the only thing I want to mean is that now he is a zero but if gets some good years in the NHL, he will be consider a great player.

BTW, I don't understand why Joe Rullier did not make the Rangers roster?

im sure if he puts his mind to it, he'll make it. he has the skill. just lacks heart.

ive seen him speak and carry himself in interviews and elsewhere, he is so full of himself. maybe he needs to improve his character more than his play.

Joe R didn't show much with us. He couldn't handle the speed of the NHL.

On FF-And just because he has a great set of skills, does not translate to him inevitably becoming a great NHL player no matter how much time he recieves.,

I know he signed a 1 way contract, hasn't he, so I was thinking this was finally his year...

read before saying anything buddy, I've never compare Fedor to Gretzky. I compare their situation.

Everyone in Brantford or so were saying that Grezt was a f---... puck hog and now that he's the best player all time, he's a hero. Everyone say Fedor is a fricking gay but if he becomes a good player in the NHL, everyone will be on his side.

They won't though. Very few people disliked Gretzky, VERY few. It seems like FedFed has a very small following. People dislike him because he is arrogant and doesn't listen. Those coaches who bad mouthed him will never like him. If FedFed becomes the best player in the NHL, the people who said he was a little prick off the ice and didn't work hard will still have that opinion.
