Computer Worm

You may have or may have not noticed, I haven't been on lately. I have a really bad worm on my home computer, I am at school now. Shhh. Anyway, what can I do to fix this worm? Norton doesn't pick it up, but the Dell help support says that a bad worm was released a few days ago, and their technicians are not qualified to help. It may be a few days for me to respond, but any and all help is greatly appreciated!

i had worms too. telus, my internet comp couldnt do jack, so i formated. it still didn't work afterwards. so i took it to work, which had telus, same connection, and i could go online. i did all the updates and all, scanned my comp, still didn't work at home, so i gave up.

Run Stinger on your machine. It's a free scanner from McAfee that detectes & cleans most of the major worms (Including the new one...Sasser).

Also, run windows update on your machine to keep up to date with patches. Then these things won't affect you.

Hopefully, everything is fixed now. My Brother-in-law is a internet security guy for Bristol Myers Squid, and gave us this CDRom. Gave us some directions, and boom, I'm online. I thank you for your help, with one minor exception. Bruins:He also suggested to run the Windows Update when they pop up to keep up on the patches, and not to just close them out like we were doing.
