Hyper vs Labeda

Recommended Posts

I just got new wheels for my Mission Proto Si's. I was rolling on the stock yellow Labeda shooters and now I've got Hyper Razor Edge wheels on the way. They're 76A's. Not sure what the Labedas were...they were yellow. Anyways, I wanted to know if anyone could tell me if I'll get any performance from this switch?

Shooters were junk stock wheels...but Razor's Edge aren't a huge improvement either, IMHO. I've seen the Razor Edge wheels as stock wheels on lower end skates which means they aren't that good. If you wanted a real performance increase you should have gone with at least Milleniums, Gripper Lites, or even Unitys.

Razor Edge are designed to be used on a variety of surfaces, even for a soft wheel..similar to the Shooters,

the fact that they are new...should feel better than the old Shooters you have now..assuming you've had the VS for a while..

in the end wheels work differently for everyone..

Labeda doesn't last long for my size and style..the same with Hyper (which is a shame because I really like the Trinity's)

I have had excellent performance from Rink Rat, and most recently Revision, but unfortunately I'm still no Boyd Sutton..

I wanted to go with some hot shots or somthing from RR, that's what I used to use when I played hockey. But I just needed wheels and these were $4 each unlike the $6 each I was going to get. And since I'm only really doing lessons, public skating, etc. I figured no biggie. Once I start playing again I'll throw down more greens for a real wheel. Thanks guys...
