Tacki Mack Grips

With the Tacki Mac grips is the knob on the end of the grip solid all the way through or is it just a thicker part of the sleeve? I'm just curious as I'm considering getting a couple and want to know if I can trim the butt end so it is the right width without sacrificing the grip protion.

unless they have changed them recently the butt end part is thicker so if you needed to trim some you could.

I have used them ever since they came and think that there way better than tape and they do not wear out palms like tape( you can also re use them if you break a stick.)
