After recently buying these pants I was asked to give my opinion on them by Dave. (wickedwrister).

I ended up purchasing these pants purely by accident because the Snergy 900's I was returning where too small and my local hockey shop didn't have my size in the Snergys. To date I am very pleased I was recommended them.

These pants are very mobile. They are about middle of the line pants in the Tackla line. The 9000's, 5000's and 3000's are a little more elite but I have no complaints. They have the segmengated spine protector with a segmengated waistband ,as well as the segmengated thigh padding, that are standard features in their more expensive elite series cousins, that cost up to one hundred dollars more. They have the double belt system to secure them or buttons so you can use suspenders if you prefer. The actual padding and PU inserts are as protective as anything on todays market. There are leg zippers on the pant legs along with generous padding at the back of the legs for those stray slashes. They have a wide segmegated tailbone protector at the back and all the pant is generously padded inside with a silver coloured inside liner. As with most Tackla pants the belly protector is stationary sewed tightly but tacticly onto the waistband at the top front of the waistband to cover the stomach area. An elastic stretch band runs from the stomach area down to the inside bottom of both legs and around to the back spine of the pants to give the pants amazing manoeverability and flexability. These are middle of the line pants with top of the line features and are very light to boot. I found them to be an excellent buy for the money. The only pant I have found to have better hip and leg protection is the Jofa 9500. It has thicker PU inserts and padding but is not quite as flexable as a result. The Jofa does not carry the separate segmentgated spine protector pad at the back though,( it is a one piece unit) and is not nearly as well padded or has as thick a PU insert as the Tackla. I highly recommend the Tackla 951 and its cousins to anyone looking for a good solid , light and highly flexable hockey pant.

it's a great pant indeed

Of course my next pant would probably be Vapor XXX Lite but this is something I would reccomend to anyone who is in the market for a great priced pant while not losing any protection
