holder size

just an observation that most of the pro stock skates i've come across have had holders that are oversized. for example a pro wears a size 9 skate, instead of having the standard 280 size holder they go with something bigger like a 288 or 296. any body know why they do this? how does it change the dynamics of the skate?

Some E widths have the next size up holder. As we know, pros are big fellas with big feet

I was wondering how & why they determine holder sizes. Don't know if this helps;

I've got a pair of size 9 1/2 prostock 1052's w/ 287

& size 9 retail Pro Tacks w/ 287

& size 9 retail Vector Pros w/ 280

all D width
