When do you know if you need your skates streched

I have a new pair of bauer 8090's and I love them. But recently I have noticed that the side of my feet at the widest part are starting to hurt bad! I have about 8 hours on them and I did'nt have this problem when they only had a few hours on them. Does anybody think I need these streched a little? Can I do this now? I know that they are not to tight because if I losen them a little my ankle dosen't stay seated. Can Anybody help?
