Bend a Blade

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I saw Pro use something like a fire gun to heat their blade than bend the curve, anyone did that at home? What kind of blade you can do this on?

I have an easton carbon wood stick and like to try to bend the cuve a bit.

thanks!!

the "flame gun" they use is a butane torch. you can find them at most hardware stores, sold for soldering pipes etc. when you heat your blade, make sure that you don't concentrate the heat, gradually heat the blade up, because focusing on one spot will damage the resins. i've done it once, but i find hte stove works just as well.

No and yes it would work if it were hot enough, but remember water is wood's number one enemy. In other words it would make the blade lose it's stiffness.
