I beleive my LHS has them for just shy of $230 US Dollars of course. I'm sure an online place might have them for slightly cheaper though. It's just a pain cuz no place lists them, you actually have to call.

Wow! Jimmy from seeing you post alot of your prices, I would buy every piece of gear I needed from you if I lived in the boston area(or N.E. U.S. for that matter), I have no good LHS in my area, so I am forced to buy online <_<

I try to keep my prices same as the internet sites. I make my money sharpening skates, no need to sell equipment at the highest retail price. Would I like to charge more, absolutely. But, I'm a hockey player myself and I understand buying habits of hockey players.

Less than $175 at my store

I like to hear that. One of my LHSs has pretty competitive prices, so I always like to give them the business when I can get out their way. Unfortunately they don't always have what I'm looking for so I have to buy from one of the online monsters.

Depending on the product, I tend to have a 10-20 dollar range. That being, if a LHS is within 10-20 of an online place, I'll just give the LHS the money. I'd rather they get the sale anyway.

Jimmy, I'm sorry if you've already mentioned this but where, and what is the name of your store. I live in NE and find myself around the greater boston area frequently...

You are a good customer! If LHS's are not supported, they will go away, as many have. Some LHS really gouge the customers, others are just honest folks trying to make a living in a market that online shops have really disturbed.

What you do is typical of customers, .. a good way of supporting your LHS, yet still getting items at a decent price. I find if the retail price is too high, it's worth it to shop on-line. But if price is close, like the $10-20 you mention, you get the benefit of seeing and trying stuff on, and get service you just can't get from a web store. Anyone who has ever bought something online and had to return it for any reason knows that the hidden shipping charges virtually wipe out any savings they may have had.

I'm not actually looking for a new stick, just a good sharpener, and I trust anybody on here more than the place I'm currently going to. I need to find a good sharpener in the Boston area.
