Zoom Air

My friend recently got a pair of Vapor XV gloves and got to talking about the differences between the XV and XXs. Obviously this has been covered numerous times but I noticed that my XXs have ZOOM Air tagged on the outside. We realized just about every Nike-Bauer product produced has Zoom Air but neither of us have a clue as to what it is.

What is it and how does it function?

It's kind of like a little bubble patch i think. Atleast that's what the zoom air is for in my v-10s. it's supposed to be padding but without the added weight.

Zoom Air was introduced by Nike back in 1996 for their basketball shoes first then in some of their other shoes years later. It is designed like their regular Air to reduce impact but Zoom Air is a lot thinner and more responsive than Air (talking about shoes here). They started putting it in equipment in the last few years.
