is it possible to shave a composite blade?

hi there...

i have a tapered shaft and i want to put the innovative or the GI zcarb on there. is it possible to shave the blade and stick it in?

which blade did u shave?

do you have any pics?

what do you use to shave it?

sandpaper?...if so what grit? thanks

i shaved down the hosel on an easton ultra-lite composite blade (the blue ones with the silver lines). i used a bench grinder with a fairly dull wheel on it. i took my time and it worked out pretty good. fits into a tapered shaft perfectly. didn't cover it with nail polish though. i didn't think it needed it after you spread glue on it.

my bad guys - I thought you were referring to a blade - not the insert. In the event that you do any mod work to a composite blade - make sure you seal it with something or over time it will breakdown.
