MISSION HE950

Recommended Posts

Quick question, I got offered a great deal on a pair of HE950s but I don't know how the sizes run. I have a pair of Mission S500s in a 9.0 and they fit perfectly. My question is do the inline sizes run the same as the ice sizes? Thanks.

I have a pair and they've been great.

All I can tell you about the fit is that I'm wearing mine true to shoe size.

I wear 7.5D in Mission Roller and 6.0 D or EE in Bauer Ice.

Then you are probably wearing the wrong size...

Our skates fit somewhere between 1/2 and full size below your shoe size. Some people have even gone down 1 1/2 size. I personally have a 10 shoe and wear an 8.5 skate....

someone told me that the 950's went on recall, right after they were on the market? I must have missed it, but i did see people wearing them at state wars this year. Personally I love mission, and am looking to snag a pair of 950's before nationals in may-june.

If I do get some 950's what wheels are included? I'm looking for the best wheels for the sport court at the Nexed Arena in Colorado Springs. Any suggestions. I usually get my wheels through hockeygiant because nobody sells good wheels in Nebraska.

950's come with Factory Z-Rateds.

I'm not really a fan of factory wheels though. I decided to try some out of curiosity, and bought a set of Factory Halo's. After about 10-12 games, they've lost most of their grip.

Why is it that almost every catalog or online store I have looked at that sells Mission skates advise you that Mission's run true to street shoe size or at most 1/2 size smaller? I wear 11.5 Nike street shoes and my 11.5 Mission's fit fine. I could probably fit into an 11 but no smaller.

I wear Mission skates and am a supporter of Mission products (skates & sticks) but why are you telling us something different than the retailers do?

HockeyGiant: 11.5 shoe = 11.5 Mission skate

EPuck: 11.5 shoe= 11 Mission skate

Also, in Greatskate or 1800FaceOff's catalog it says Mission runs true to only 1/2 size smaller.

Just wondering as I keep seeing you say that your skates are 1.5 sizes smaller than your shoes.

Thanks!

The online dealers are wrong..We are in the process of instructing them to change the listings...This leads the problem with buying skates online...There is no correct "If you a an X size shoe, then you are X size skate." Every person prefers a skate a certain way. Some like it tight, some loose, some with their toes not touching, some with their toes just touching, and some with their foot jammed in...It is all how you like it....

That's really weird...

Because my Mission Roller have always been bought at 7.5D and these last ones were sent to me from Craig and they've been great.

He sent me a pair of Mission Amp S's a while back in size 7 and they were way to small.

In addition to have small feet they must be odd feet. =)

I wear a ten shoe, what would you reccomend for some 950's? How much is typical retail nowadays?

10 shoe, maybe 9-9.5 mission skate.

Typical retail these days ranges. Some sites blew them out for $199, but current fully stocked stores tend to sell for $249.

Considering it was an expensive skate, it's a good deal. I'd just be wary/careful of the eyelets.

This is true, and why so many people end up with mis-sized skates.

the last 3 pairs I've bought have been from online, and I've eventually found that they're the wrong size. I am now trying to not only support my LHS, but actually work with someone who knows how to fit hockey skates. The owner of my LHS first hand showed me how I was a size too big, and how to properly fit a skate.

try before you buy. Especially if it's a large purchase.

They had problems with the eyelet breaking. Also, the first generation boots had creasing problems. If you run into a problem, Mission has the best customer service in the business. But chances are if you buy the skate now, you'll get the most revised/best version of the 950.

On the the helium skates you have to be careful how you lace up the skate. If you lace it up wrong the eyelets tear out.

Crap- someone already beat me to it

Not true. The first batch of skates had a problem with the glue/stitching of the dna strands, which caused them to break. Doesnt matter how you lace them...

You are right about the glue. I was not refering to the putting the laces through the eyelets. I was talking about actually tightening the skate. People who kick back when they lace up their skates had a real problem with the first batch.

soooo...all problems solved then? I just don't wanna buy a 200 dollar pair of skate, and hear "good luck sucker" on my way out the door. ya know? I'm also looking for a nice pair of pants, preferably mission, I had some tour sharks but they tore up in days. I play rather physical and get tripped alot so they'd have to be durable. open for suggestions.

Well, Mission won't exactly tell you "good luck sucker", but we're not lying when we say the skates had a bad track record. There's a reason the line was re-designed from the ground up. Notice how Mission went back to traditional eyelets, and changed small things around. Honestly, I could buy the 950's too, but I'm not really willing to risk the headaches I *could* incur if I had them.

Missions 05 pants are on sale now, and they're nice..The helium 950 pants, I believe. Also, the new Mission 5500 and 7500 pants are pretty affordable, and look solid.
