Project_2501 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 Thanks for the info so far guys, but I have one more question. If I like my skates pretty tight, do I want to buy a skate with a stiffer boot like the synergy 1300 or the vap. XXXs. Im skating in a graf 703 and had a pair of G3's (had to send them in due to manufacturing prob.) and I like the performance but I constantly need to retie/tighten them. So do I need to move to a stiffer boot (as said above)? You could just backlace and get waxed laces. The stiffness of the boot doesn't determine how tight you can get the laces. If anything a softer boot will get tighter.
BushLeagueDangler08 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2005 So what's the advantage of a stiffer boot, tighter/easier turns, speed???
asdfa 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2005 "more support". heavier people generally need stiffer skates to support their ankles, or else the boot will flex too much laterally.
BushLeagueDangler08 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2006 Alright guys I took the dive and got the skates, I know there's going to be changes from my Graf supra703s, and I was just wondering what I should expect
