Nike Flexlight 10

Recommended Posts

I just got home from my grandparents over Christmas. I got the Nike Flexlight 10s, the skate guy recommended them to me after my foot wouldnt fit correctly in CCMs. I dont know much about them. They were the most comfortable skate I put on. I dont have practice until the 29th. If anyone could tell me something about these skates thatd be great. Thanks

People whose feet are wide at the toes like this skate because of the huge toe box. The only complaint that I have heard is that it is not as stiff as it could be.

I'm not a fan of Bauer/Nike skates presently but the Flexlite 10 is a nice choice. Its a very good quality high end skate much better than the infamous Vapor line and will give you durabilty, lightness and very good comfort. The best thing about these skates is their made for people with wide feet and gives them ample room with their wide toe box. ( a very good alternative to a CCM skate which is considered a wide skate) As already mentioned these skates are pretty well a game ready fit and most of the Nike skates I've tried have always moulded to my feet very quickly and just get better with usage. Although I have never stuck with Nike skates long enough to comment on their longetivity I can tell you my son has a pair of my old Quest 3's which are still hanging in there with regular use after a three years. Although not as popular as the high end skates by other manufacturers these skates aren't a bad bang for the buck. Still fairly protective and sporting the Lightspeed II holder they'll also be very responsive on the ice. These skates are a fairly surprising product for a company that's had lots of durability problems with their high end product lines lately and up there with some of the lightest skates on the market. ;)

i kindof have a hard time believe that a product with "flex" right there in the name would be all that stiff... but then again...stifflight doesnt roll of the toungue as nice...

I wear Flexlite 12's. The 10 & 12 are both great skates. IMHO this is the best skate Nike has produced. Comparable to the Bauer Vapor, but different fit.

I wear a 9 tennis shoe & 6 1/2 Flexlite 12, please use this just as a guide.

Do you know what the difference is beetween the 10s and 12s?

Lining Material:

Nike Flexlite 10 - Hydrophobic microfiber

Nike Flexlite 12 - Hydrophobic clarino

Tongue Construction:

Nike Flexlite 10 - Anatomical 48 oz. 2-piece felt with molded metatarsal guard

Nike Flexlite 12 - Molded anatomical tongue with high-density metatarsal guard

Footbed:

Nike Flexlite 10 - Nike grip

Nike Flexlite 12 - Nike stabilizer

Blade Holder & Runner

Nike Flexlite 10 - Tuuk Lightspeed 2 with solid stainless steel runner

Nike Flexlite 12 - Tuuk Lightspeed 2 with perforated stainless steel runner

What I noticed right off the bat between the two skates are the latter two points. The footbed on the Nike Flexlite 10's don't stay in place.

Footbeds are easy to replace. I'd recommend Shock Doctor footbeds if you need replacements.

Footbeds that come out everytime you take the skates off? That sounds like a dream to me!

I take my footbeds out to help my skates dry and I have to practically pry my shock doctors out.

I have a game tommorow. I have yet to wear my skates on the ice. Do you think itll be alright to go ahead and wear these in the game tomorrow even though I havent skated in them yet. I was told they dotntreally have a break in period?
