Anybody try on a 8090 in EE?

Recommended Posts

I looked and could not find anything that addressed this issue. I know that 8090s run wide. I have tried on a D width 8090 and it was a touch snug on the sides. This would more than likely take care of itself after a bake, but was wondering if anyone has/ or tried on a EE 8090. I have never seen one and don't know if it would be too wide as compared to other E width skates. (BTW, my last 2 of my last 3 pair have included EE Supremes and EE Vapor XXs. Thanks.

I own a pair of 8090 in EE and they ARE wide.

A D in 8090 is a EE in Vapors, so a EE in 8090 is like a EEE in Vapors, or at least thats the rule of thumb.

I love these skates (havent skated them yet, but i wear them when im home, sitting on the pc, because i want to break them in before i skate them.

I can recommend these skates (in EE) to people with really wide feet.

I went through several skates/brands and these are the widest ive ever had.

Normally my feet/toes got numb cause the skates were too narrow, but not with these.

finally i can have some contribution to this topic!!

I have a 5.5EE 8090 which I think is really wide. I used to have a CCM E60 5.5E and have been searching for something wider for replacement, I have looked and decided on the 5.5EE without trying them on, coz I have no access to those, but i got the skate from a LHS in Vancouver. I used to wear really think socks in the E60, but when I change over to 8090, I wore the same socks, and it feels good at first, it's very roomy inside the toe box, so I decided to change the foot bed to shock doctor (the only thing available) and it killed some of the room in the skate and feel more snug. I still find it a little bit lose at the ankle area and it's just a fraction of room inside, so I decide to change to a bit thicker socks, and it works well!

I remember reading from one of the bauer rep in this site that 8090 D size can be stretched upto 2 size.. so you can get a D and strectch it. (the post is long time ago talks about 8090)

I also wonder whether I should get a 5.5D instead, but I don't have the luxiory to try out the skate before purchasing. But I am happy with my 8090 after I have made the minor changes to make it more comfortable for me!
