Vapour 10's

Recommended Posts

Thumbs up from me. Much more durable than the Vapor 8's they replaced which literally came apart at the seams on me. Break in time was non-existant for me after baking them. The 8's were a nightmare in comparison. Avoid the perf steel if you can, had one crack on the 8's and was luckier with the 10's.

I'd still be wearing mine regularly if I didn't find a deal on a pair of XX's.

Ouchie. I wish I had read this a month ago. I stumbled across a brand new pair of Vapor 8's in Auckland when I was on vacation and decided to take a chance on the pair. My first skate on them will only be this Sunday. Now I have my doubts.

Well I have a pair and mine are bullet proof... but mine are pro returns (ken daneyko's) from 2002 that I bought from goalie heaven in toronto. I recently switched to the vector pro's which are more than a half pound lighter than the vapor's.. not getting rid of the bauers though.

If these are the old kind and not the lame Vapor X, then I'd definitely go for it. Using them again and wish they were easier to find in boat sizes.

I have the good pic skate. Whew!

I'll try and post pics over the weekend.

I play with five guys that wear 10's look good and they love them. One guy put the LS2 holder and steel.

That sounds interesting. Did he feel any performance boost over the original holder and steel?

I think he thought he was cool--next we were waiting for the XXX logo in marker. No he's a good guy, he liked the look.

Hopefully you'll have better luck than I did. The seams along the edges of the boot broke down and that led to the composite material cracking and breaking off in little bits. Must have been a fairly common problem cause you can see how Bauer added the reinforcement and stitching to the 10's.

For now, just enjoy the performace of the skates. It's not like any skate lasts forever anyways!

Heh, I'm actually itching to go back to my 10's for a skate but I'm too superstitious to switch in the middle of a winning streak. Maybe just for morning pick-up now that the world juniors are over and we get our ice time back!
