All Torhs Team 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2006 Ok Ive been collecting cards since I was like eight, stopped at about eleven. I know most cards are pointless, but what if Ive picked up a couple rookies, or super rare cards like my Walter Payton. Ive got like ten Gretkzy's and Marino's Elway's. Allen Iverson's. So are any of you out there big card sellers and buyers, what would you price these at. My main one that I was hoping to get money out of is the 1945 Walter Payton on the Chicago Bears. Any help? hocckey77 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2006 1945 walter payton? Whoever printed that must have been a prophet considering he wasn't even born then. So I'm assuming you mean 85.I, too, need to sell all my random baseball cards.P.S. buy a pricing book or look at beckett.com i think that's the site.
All Torhs Team 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2006 He wasnt born then?ooo Damn, and I thought that was my most valuable. Im not into collecting these things at all, just thought I might be able to get $100 out of the five binders of cards I have....
Petey21 1 Report post Posted January 10, 2006 Maybe you can ask around at these sites, those people seem pretty serious about their collecting and could probably help you out.http://www.sportscardforum.com/http://www.sportscardsheriff.com/
beaucoup_fish 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2006 If those rookies you have are Gretzkys, Lemieuxes and Elways, I think you're in the money...as the other guy said, try beckett for a guide, but keep in mind that's it's only a guide and not the be all and end all of pricing. Selling to a dealer will net you less than if you sell privately to another collector. As usual, you can also try eBay, I use eBay sales as a rough gauge of what is worth what. For example, if a Gretzky RC is going for say, $800 on eBay, then I'd expect my own auction (assuming the condition of the card similar) to garner a final price in that range too. Good luck.
