TPS Triton

Recommended Posts

i posted about this stick a lil while ago on CB but have come up w/ a few more questions. Again i saw this stick at a tournament i was playing in and talked to the owner of stick afterwards but only briefly. He told me that TPS didnt make then for the public and when i asked how he got them he said he called and ordered them directly from TPS. now i did not find out if he has connection to TPS or anything like that but i was wondering if it is possible to call them and order these "prototype" sticks. anyone w/ experience or information on this topic?

specs on the stick:

-almost looked and felt like the shaft was aluminum

-all black except for some orange/yellowish writing that said "TPS" and "Triton"

-looked to have a composite blade

-did not show the flex on the stick

p.s. i knew it was a new stick because each one i saw (2-3) were labeled w/ one of the '04 type of curves ex: nash etc

Next time, bring a camera! I'm curious to find out more about this stick. Did it look like a OPS, or shaft/blade combo?

They were a low-price OPS that TPS was considering releasing, not equal to any of the new products. You can't call and order them.

"was considering releasing" This means they opted not to go ahead with production? Any reason why?

Cheaper materials, heavier. Compare a Havoc to a Synergy or a V100 to a V110 and you get the idea.

This is just my guess but it would seem that the cheaper OPS doesn't attract more buyers as much as it attracts people who would otherwise buy the more expensive models. Not selling a cheaper model would make sense if this is the case.

Wasnt the Crossfire like this stick. I thought the Crossfire was like the Havoc of the TPS family, cheap and heavy, but durable. I dont remember seeing much of this stick.

Crossfire is similar to the Easton z-carbon wood sticks or Sher-Wood ETS sticks. Hybrid blade on a wood stick.

Note where it says "Aspen Core" Aspen is wood, it's a wood stick with a compsite blade, just like the Easton Z-carbon and Sher-wood ETS sticks.

I have the TPS catalog and i'm familiar with the specs, it's also listed on the page titled "wood sticks".
