Any REAL difference between these 2 skates ?

more than likely one is last years model, also one has a "fast steel" or carbon steel blade, vs a stainless steel blade. the boots should feel the same.

For that kind of money you could just get some good used boots on ebay....

True. Go with the VAP VII because it has stainless. Outdoor skating wears edges fast, stainless will hold an edge longer.
