Eternal 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2006 ok so here the deal there was a player on my team who got in some trouble and missed a month and a half of hockey. He is now back in my town and wants to play. Tonight after my game the coach tells us that we are to vote on if we want him back on the team. Most guys immeadiatley said no. I for one feel he has paid to play and suffered for his actions and hockey is something that will help get him back on track. if you were put in the same situation how would you react would you want him back or not? kosydar 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2006 I think that whatever he did and what consequences he suffered totally would sway my opinion. But for the most part I'd say if it was bad enough that he had to leave town for a month and a half he shouldn't be playing. Also, his personality makes a difference. If he can come back and be a positive team member, then that is in his favor. But if he is a dick, regardless of his skill level, thats another strike. Eternal 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2006 it had nothing to do with the team and we have countless players getting suspending and missing as much time as he did because of iand 2 games ago some kid decided to punch someone with their helmet on and broke his thumb thus keeping him out of the line-up for a month or more and hurtig the team. i see them as almost the same should we not let him back on the team too. Crazy Otto 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2006 Not knowing the particulars of the situation, I usually say everybody deserves a second chance. Sounds like your teammates are pi$$ed at him for something, he needs to come in and clear the air, then let them decide.
driz86 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2006 I'd for sure take him back. Mainly because hockey is an outlet for alot of young people and it can keep him focused. if on the other hand he is kept away from it, he will probably focus his energy in the wrong places (crime for instance) and it will end up a negative situation. pldhockey4 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2006 Hey, if Bertuzzi came back, why not him? yeah, he almost killed a guy, that cant be worse then whyat your teammate did!i think he should get a 2nd chancE!
analog999 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2006 I agree with others, 2nd chance unless he is a dick. If he is getting a bunch of penalty minutes and drags the team down with his attitude, why let him on? If he was an asset to the team and people liked having him around then I think they should take him back. But obviously this was not the case as most of the guys weren't willing to have him back. Talk to your coach and see what he says.

twal 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2006 If it was something that he did related to the team that is one thing but why should he be judged for something that has nothing to do with the team.It sounds as if he is being marked.Everyone needs a 2nd chance. If this isn't the way he acts in every facet of his life there is no reason why he should be excluded from anything that isn't related to the offense itself. It sounds as if you have made your decision you should go with it and stand up for what you believe in.
