Toronto McCabe Disgrace

Recommended Posts

When there is no hitting in the NHL, everyone cries about it. When a big hit is thrown, everyone says its dirty. Make up your mind. This is known as the "Mack" influence! Take it away, Johnny!!

Keep in mind Tucker threw a similar hit on Gonchar a few years ago and got a 2 game suspension for it.

Umm, chippy stigma attached to Tucker's play perhaps responsible?

this shit happens alot, especially around the knee. whenever you go into the boards hard with your knee leading, or take a shot off the top of the knee cap, its alot of pain and you really cant even get up for a bit. its just the shock of the impact, and your body will not let you put any weight on it to get up

He did get a break there, but that wasn't really a temper thing. That was a brutal period for the Leafs and the referees. Although in the third, the stripes definately tilted the scale down in Toronto's favour.

McCabe's temper didn't really have a big outcome on the game at all. Toronto was out hustled all night and Belfour decided to take tonight off. The shoot it after the whistle call is something 95% of the refs don't call in that situation.

I'm calling a Belfour start tomorrow. In all honesty, they should win tomorrow (not trying to be a dick), but they have like a 9-2 record in the back end of home and homes.

I don't know if it's a known temper with McCabe, as much as they know he's an idiot. Alot of the things aren't really him getting mad and reacting, it's just his brain stops working for stretches during the game. I didn't notice Jagr alot other than his PP goals and a few downlow shifts, but Kaberle handled him well in the first 2 periods and McCabe did alright in the third.

Wellwood can do put in games like this every once in a while. Just does everything right, Steen's just like that every night. Hard up and down the wings, nice move or two, physical, etc.. Nothing overly spectacular. It should be good tomorrow. I'll be over at a buddies, but post when I get home.

I noticed Malik alot tonight, he seemed to be in the middle of alot of nice Defensive stuff. I knew Kaspar was going to kill Welly after that 360 fake slapshot followed by him patting his shins.

What did you guys think of that hit on Wellwood?

It was pretty funny how when Kasp. gave Wellwood a tap on the shins after beating him Harry Neale thought Kasp. was giving him compliment

Rangers were doing everything in their power to block that point shot of his.

That was definetly the biggest worry on the Ranger's PK. McCabe has a hell of a shot. He snapped Ortmeyers stick clean in half...Of course, Ort does use an SL, so yea

I thought Ortie had a CCM with the fused wood blade in it? Has he switched. I know DMo has an SL.

 I just checkes on Getty Images, and he does use a CCM. I could of sworn he had an SL in the begining of the season... I know he's used Easton sticks in the past.

The goal that Sykora scored was just embarrassing for Belfour IMHO. I mean, he looked my roller goalie who goes down and never gets up. Granted, it was a 5-3, and I'm thinking Belfour was more-or-less expecting a pass across to Straks, but cmon. Sykora was almost daring him to get up and he just never did.

Theo, that goonery is exactly why I hate the Leafs. They're a bunch of thugs, just like their coach. And he allows it, and I think preferrs it. I'll go one more obnoxious step and say they play like a bunch of drunk Irishmen...just like their coach. Drink a few rounds, fight a few rounds.

They even said the Leafs bench intimidated the refs into some of the calls, and I have to agree. Which is totally ridiculous to say for professional refs. But that non-call on the hit on Hollweg proved it for me. Clearly a hit from behind, at least a 4 minute in my book. Ortie comes across and knocks the Leaf player on his ass and it's an even up call? BS.

Poti helped expose it, that's for sure. POTI! On a BREAKAWAY! Haha.

And yes, the middle of my paragraph is funny, and probably going to get me in trouble with some MSHers, for Anti-Leafs reasons as well as ethnic reasons. Lol. But being 25% myself, I feel confident in tying in drinking to fighting with my fellow Irish.

Is the other 75% Polish?

Belfours been like that all year. Just doesn't seem to know what to do.

As for the intimidating the Refs. It goes both ways, you intimidate some into giving you calls, others just get pissed and give you more penalties. They are only human and they react a certain way to criticism.

I really don't care about Quinn, so I don't mind the Irish whatever comments, but you should really take a look at the team before you call them Thugs. Belak never plays, Domi's been scared all season long. Tucker and McCabe run around and do what they want. It's alot different now than it was before with Roberts, Nolan, McCabe, Marchment, Domi actually doing stuff, and others.

I didn't think the Welly hit was bad, but I didn't think the Poni one was either. Both players who recieved the hit put themselves into vulnerable situations and the attackers were just finishing checks.

So you respond to an ethnic insult, with an ethnic insult. Nice.

And no it's not. But it's definately not the 100% asshole you are.

Haha, sorry, I don't really mean that. Sometimes after suffering through many of Mack's comebacks, you gotta stick up for yourself.
