I currently have a Dell XPS 5 set up with the following specs :

3.20 GHZ Intel HT Processor

NVIDIA 6800 GFX Video Card

1 GIG DDR2 Ram

160 gig Hard Drive

17" Dell Ultrasharp LCD Flatpanel Monitor

Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Soundcard

Altec Lansing VS 3151R 6.1 Surround Sound System

This is a very decent spec. to help me out with graphics/web design and 2D /3D rendering/animation, DVD Authoring / Encoding /Convertion and of course hardcore games. I plan on getting SLI (proll'y a 7800 GTX+++) or Crossfire spec when i get the money.

I built the PC that I am currently using. Mainly it is used for gaming, and photo editing. I am going to be getting into graphic and website design too. It has:

-Asus A8N-E nForce Ultra Socket 939 ATX motherboard

-AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ processor

-Connect 3D Radeon X1900 XTX / 512MB GDDR3 / PCI Express / DualDVI / VIVO / Video Card

-Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty PCI Sound Card

- Sony DRU810A / 16x8x16x DVD+RW / 16x6x16x DVD-RW / 8x DVD±R DL

-Plextor PX-230A/SW-BL / 52x32x52x CD-RW

-3 Gig DDR2

-BenQ 19" LCD monitor DVI/VGA 8ms 1280x1024

-(on the way)Samsung 244T / 24" / 6ms / 1000:1 / 1920x1200 / DVI-VGA / Silver / LCD Monitor

-(2) WD 250 GB hard drives

-Bose surround sound

I'm also going to be breaking the bank on a new computer here in the next few months. It's going to be my first Mac (mainly using it for designing) It is a PowerMac G5 with all the bells and whistles (just thinking about it makes me cream):

Two dual-core 2.5GHz PowerPC G5 processors

1.25GHz frontside bus per processor

1MB L2 cache per core

4GB of 533MHz DDR2 ECC SDRAM

2-500GB Serial ATA hard drive

16x SuperDrive (double-layer)

Three open PCI-Express expansion slots

QUADRO FX 4800 512 MB SDRAM

2- 30" Apple HD Cinema Displays

Software and all this thing is going to cost me more than a brand new Honda!!!

I shouldn't even be posting this...my computer is like my hockey gear. Not great...a few years old...not top of the line...but gets the job done.

PIII 550 (Asus P3V4X Board)

384 Meg RAM

2 HD (40G/10G)

NVidia 32 Bit Graphics

Soundblaster SC (I think it's an AWE64)

2 CD-ROM's (LG 52X CD-RW / 32x CD-ROM)

17" Dell Monitor

I used to play a little NHL 2002/2004, but I bought an Xbox to fill that need.

Now, mostly surfing, playing music. Do some Photoshopping.

That's about it.

SweeeeeT!

What can I say? I like my computers like I like my cars...fast and expensive. Plus, like I said I mess around a lot with graphic and website design as well as photo editing. The PowerMac is coming as I get closer to my degree and doing this for a living since thats what it was pretty much designed for.

AMD 3000+ Barton

1GB Ram

80GB HD

ATi 9600XT 128 MB AGP

Soundblaster Audigy LS

Liteon DVD-RW DVD+RW

LG 52x32x52 CD-RW

Creative 450 4.1 Speaker (crap, shorted out and losing power constantly)

Gigabyte GS-700 i think it is, can't remember (motherboard)

Enermax 350w power

Impression 7plus 17" Flat screen

haven't upgraded in a long time, probably won't till the summer. I used to play as many games as I could but the only game I play is NHL 06.

Use it for music, surfing the net, chatting, forums, photoshopping, occasional 3dsmax and making more videos.
