Protective shin pads w/out bulky size

I am looking for suggestions regarding shin pads that offer superior protection but that are slim enough to fit under my skate tongue. The attached image displays the set up I am looking for. Thanks.

Easton Synergy or Nike V-series.

Funny, the Easton Synergy 900's look the bulkiest out of any of the newer shinpads on the market. Perhaps the stock picture is deceiving.

No they taper towards the bottom.

I concurr, Easton Snergy's or Nike V- 10's to 14's. They all taper at the bottom so you can wear them inside your skate tongue.

I am doing the same thing.. my bauer8000s are too big, and I'm thinking Nike V12 or 14.. but was also looking at Synergy700.. so I agree w/above
