odour eater packet thing

I saw at SportsExchange here in Vancouver they had these little packages that supposedly absorb the odour in gloves and then you leave them outside somewhere else where the release the stink into the air so you can reuse them. Anyone tried this out?? Im wondering if those little packets of silicate or whatever that come in dried food packages would do the same?

I don't know what they would do for the smell. The packets in dried foods are there to absorb moisture.

KOR has silica inserts for skates that absorbe moisture. They reduce odors because they dry up the favorable environment bacteria need to multiply. They work great. if your store is selling something similar for gloves, I'd give it a try.
