gman 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2006 Any suggestions for similar gloves, elbow pads, shoulder pads? There is an outdoor summer league that is hotter than heck on the deck. Any suggestion other than a white colored helmet?
pldhockey4 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2006 is it roller hockey?i never have worn shoulders in rolller.i loved my v-10's, they seem to have lost of ventilation in the shins and elbows.
shute 4 Report post Posted February 9, 2006 RBK 4k or the 6k.. i swear with their fit lite they are the best ventilated pads in the market and they are also super light but they are a little thicker then some because of their fit lite straps but not by much. We may or may not go with shoulders. Depends on what the kids want. So far in their inddor league they do not want shoulders. I'm just covering all bases for future. That main thing is that it is hotter than blazes here in summer. Thanks

ash_96 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2006 yeah those shoulder pads are good, i personally use the hypertection Tshirt armor. but the mission one is more protective than that. i have no problems at all with it, id prefer to wear a padded Tshirt than nothing as it hardly makes a difference to me if im wearing it or not. Hypertection protective shirt
gman 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2006 Thanks Jason and Ash, THose both look good and like they will fit the bill. Hopefully we won't need anything and the boys will be happy without shoulder pro. Anything on gloves? I know the nylon shelled ones should be cooler than the leather ones. Will plastic inserts afford cooler hands than the thick padding due to less insulation? Or has anyone really worried about the hands? Elbows will be along the same lines as the shoulders, I would guess, as far as just looking for a minimalist covering. Is the Mission intake helmet the best ventilated? I have a hard time spending that much on a kid's helmet though. Maybe I'll spray paint their black helmets white and just hope from there:)

Hypertection protective shirtI use one of these on Ice yeah same whenever I play, or I use the stuff I made myself :P As for gloves, it depends how much you're looking to spend really. Nylon gloves will be lighter and probably not as hot as leather gloves. I personally use the RBK 6K fit lite gloves. They're nylon and have amazing protection too. I've never had problems with hot hands or anything with them.I personally think they're great gloves.I Use a lot of minimalist protection for roller. I don't like feeling 'bulky' or getting hot. I find the Easton Extreme elbow pads fine for roller. enough protection not to get hurt but still quite lightweight.
