shaft question

at the top of my shaft where i put in an endplug, a hairline fracture is just starting to form on the one side of the shaft that goes down about 1.5-2 inches.

now, my question is, is my shaft gonna explode at the top in stealth-like fashion, or am i gonna be ok...? thanks.
