Labeda Genesis Problems

Recommended Posts

Bought myself a new set of genesis wheels and skated them 2 training sessions and 2 games and now 3 of them have broken. The hub housing the bearing has split and started to rip right off the rest of the hub. Has anyone else had or heard of problems like this with these wheels?

Just took them back to LHS who are gonna sort it out for me, but just curious as to if anyone has had this problem.

Cheers

Pod

yeah man.. there have been alot of problems with those wheels.. you probably still have the old batch of wheels with the defected cores.. labeda should replace them but there have been other problems with them

Yup...lotsa problems.

The newer batches, with the corrected hub have a hexagonal shape to them. Or Penatagonal. I sucked at HS Geometry. Just keep en eye open for those, and steer clear of the completely round hubs.

Haha, I'm like a "Bad Experience" sniper. Anytime anyone posts about bad wheels, bad skates, etc, I'm right there...

haha this is true.... you ever get a pair of 9500s that fit u properly? hopefully you did.. those things are amazing.. great product..

my bad pody i didnt mean to steal your thunder and take the topic and switch it.. but for the most part i think labeda and tour have fixed the problem but i think some others have been left behind and had problems with the customer service.. if your LHS is taking care of the problem then you should be fine

Ya I have code 1s and had the same problem, i'm pretty sure Labeda is working on fixing the problem. I just bought some Labeda "USAs" and they are essentially the same, but the are a little heavier and they fixed the hub. I think Labeda is going to make the genesis hub like the USAs hub soon.

I did get a pair, and I'm actually in the process of selling them to an MSHer. Lol. They are great skates, they just don't fit me well. The ankle seems to be tight, making my whole heel go numb. Unbareable. And I won't get into heat-baking....

If you have any problems with any Genesis wheels your LHS or Labeda will take care of the wheels. There were some initial problems with the cores of the original batch of wheels and the problem has been resolved. There still could be wheels out there and if you have any issues we will take care of them. We apologize for the inconvenience but we will stand behind our product.

I had the same problem with my wheels on my code1s.. Actually after my first 2-3 games they were all fine but then they started cracking. I think 5 out of my 8 cracked eventually but the owner of my LHS gave me a brand new wheel every time one cracked. I dont think i will buy these wheels anymore
