Trying to find a good curve for me, help...

Recommended Posts

Alright, during my recent peruse to my LHS, I found a Vapor XXX-Lite with a P91 curve. After having my XXX-Lite w/ PM9 and realizing that modo is not for me (man I hate this process) And seeing how the lie matched a Nash TPS blade well (best in terms of lie and rocker for me, just not curve) I've decided to search for more of the sort.

I was wondering, what companies had clones of this P91 and if they were available as replacement blades.

I would kind of rather not order TPS custom from my LHS at this point, as I finally got the Sundin blade in the shop that I ordered mid-November, much to my dismay as I realized that I wasn't going to get stuck with another too-low lie blade.

I would go for this or any similar mild heel-wedge type blade pretty much, but I'm avoiding going custom at the moment.

I'd need a lie of about 5.5.

Thanks a bunch.

I believe that the closest match to the p91 would be a Drury or a Kovalev. Althought some people feel that the p91 has slightly more curve to it. The pattern db list the drury as a 5.5 lie so maybe that would work for you.

Yeah, I wanted to try a p91, but my LHS didn't have any. I ended up with a Sakic (has a 5.5 lie). Drury was too much of a wedge for me. I don't think that any company has an exact match for the p91. Warrior might, but I haven't seen all their curves, so I don't know.

Odd, the P91 NBH XXX-Lite I saw was like a 5.5-6 lie (Matched well with a Nash Adrenaline) had a curve depth similar to a PM9 but had a fair deal of open-ness to it, but no where near a Drury.

Maybe a Mission Ribero curve?

i have had p91. kovy..drury..crosby..tucker..p106 the wedge works basically..and i have always came back to the drury..i found the rocker on the p91 was slighttly different then the drury which made me go back to it..i would personally go with a crosby woodie try..the lie is similar and you could sand it down the make it "flatter"
