Need help with narrowing down skate choices

Recommended Posts

Hi, new to the board. But have been roaming it for quite some time.

I decided to finally get a screen name because I needed some help on some new skates.

I am mostly inline player, I play inhouse ice for practice, and play competitive inline. So for a while I have been using Tour BlueMax fo, and been extremely happy with them. I am now starting to outgrow them, and I bought some Beemers on Ebay but they are not stiff at all. So what I'm planning on doing is buying some high end clearance ice skates and converting them. They will become my new inline skates and my Beemers will become my new ice skates(not to shabby for ice skates consedering I only get out to the ice rink about once a month)

So my only problem is I have been out of the ice world for about 4 years. I am looking for a skate with very specific attributes to them, and have no clue on what each skate strengths and weaknesses are.

So, the most important thing to me is weight, I will be having an all 80mm wheel chassis on them and Rink Rats as the wheels(which are not the lightest wheels on the market) They dont have to be extremely lite, Im used to a heavy skate, but if any on my list are realy heavy or lite it would be nice to know

2nd would of course be comfort of the boot, mostly the tounge and the ankles, as I will probably put in a different footbed.

3rd would be the stiffness, I realy want a stiff boot.

These are the four Im looking at, in order of interest.

I had Pure Lites ages ago and liked them. Seemed to me to be lite

Pure Flys are the upgrade of that skate right?

Pure Flys

Don't know much, look like a good deal. Nikes have always been comfertable IMO

nike v-force

Would be a great deal with the free stick, but does anyone know if these skates are good at all. they seemed to be the lowest skate on the page.Would do 4000 but I need a intermediate stick

Pure s3000

I know the quest inline skates were heavy. I also know that some said Quest Ones were some of the best skates ever. Good mark down from original price

nike quest ones

I'm a 8.5-9.5 street shoe, so they are all in my general size.

Any opinions would be welcome. Also if anyone know of anyother skates I could look at that would be great also

thanks
