cougarscaptain87 13 Report post Posted February 22, 2006 ive recently jsut came back after a 3 week down time with no hockey (it was hell) i used to be able to basically score at will and just snipe any spot i wanted to with damn good velocity. for whatever reason my past 3 games i havent been able to score for shit. at first i thought i was just rusty and maybe playin with my head down not lookin at the target. i watched a tape of my self and quicky realized i was up to par with my normal game if not better. the problem is i cant aim my shot for shit. i shoot close to 80 mph but i cant snipe the corners or open spots like i used to. im a modo clone user and i always have used the curve so its not like im trying to relearn to shoot. any one have any advice for a new curve i could try? or any tips you have to help aim?thanks in advance
Chadd 916 Report post Posted February 22, 2006 After 3 weeks off it can take a while to regain your shooting form. Take a little velocity off and your accuracy should be better.
cougarscaptain87 13 Report post Posted February 22, 2006 any suggestions on the curve? id like to get a bit better at stick handleing and since im coming from a modo i dont want anything like an yzerman, any advice?
hip check 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2006 What about something in between the Modano and the Yzerman - maybe like the P106 Jokinen pattern Bauer sells?Have you tried the Drury/clone pattern? It seems to be popular.Sometimes a change is good, other times a change just shows you that nothing was wrong in the first place... except maybe the expectations put on yourself. cougarscaptain87 13 Report post Posted February 23, 2006 ive tried the kovalchuck in the xxx lite and it seemed to be better with stick handelin and also shot harder but it being open made me lift the puck about 6'' over the net every time

cougarscaptain87 13 Report post Posted February 23, 2006 thanks for the help guys, just really frustrating to leave being a scoring machine to come back to not put the biscuit in the basket at all. any other curve ideas are certainly welcome.
iceholes 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2006 I use the same curve as you... got into a funk and went to a TPS Tkachuck..really cleaned things up.... ... now I feel comfy with both as I rotate to keep it fresh.. Its all personal preference but I feel anything that clears the mind helps
sdcopp 1 Report post Posted February 23, 2006 I was a modo user for some time, switched to using wood blades in a shaft, went to the Sher-Wood Spezza which is very close to BNH PL106/Jokinen and couldn't be happier. It has a tad more curve and opens up a little more.
