New info on Puckskin products!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Since we'd been talking about the puckskin.ca line of wicking products over in the Uncer Armour cleaning thread, I just thought it would be nice to show that they ARE taking our feedback to heart. To wit... here is the response I received back from Greg at Puckskin:

"Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the interest. PuckSkin was developed mainly as a safety

(antimicrobial) base layer with maximum wick ability. Most players wear

PuckSkin under a separate cup and suspenders. We are in the process of

expanding our product line to include a cup pocket with socks support

straps. This product will be available in July 2006, as we are still

testing different applications for durability.

We, as a company dedicated to providing the best products, appreciate

your feedback."

In a follow-up email, he added:

"All the partners related to the project are active hockey

players with junior, varsity and pro backgrounds. We have just upgraded

the fabric to be anti-static and UV protective as we are expanding into

training garments for dryland and multi-sport use."

So it looks like some cool new products will hit the market in July. Guess I need to start saving my pennies now.

Regs,

Jeff

[Full disclosure: PuckSkin shared a booth with us at the tradeshow.]

There's no doubt that PuckSkin is outstanding. Did he tell you that they added a postage stamp sized label to the offending area of the products that literally sucks up odors? One of the guys in the booth said he would play at least four times without washing the jersey, then toss it to a teammate to smell.

They wouldn't smell it at first, then they would say, "You gotta be kidding me!" when they heard he hadn't washed it in four games. :o

Nope, that particular feature wasn't mentioned in our limited correspondence, but I know it's been mentioned here on MSH before. As I told him, looks like I'll be purchasing some new gear come July now that it has the features I thought were woefully missing (sock tabs and jock pocket).

Regs,

Jeff

Is this stuff already included in their product right now?or it will be coming later?

That's a good question. The products that were displayed in the booth had the label that sucks up odors, but I don't know whether they have a backlog of older products that they are shipping "As Is" or whether they've sewn the label onto the existing products.

It sounds like the modifications to include cup and Velcro won't happen for a few months because, truthfully, for a while they were resistant to the idea. Maybe they learned at the tradeshow thay it would be more popular than they thought.

PM ModernIce for better details.
