GoldenPalace.com strikes again

Recommended Posts

I think there is a line that may get crossed that will really startle some people. When the guy dressed as an 'Islamic terrorist' run on stage and bears his Al-Queda.com t-shirt, is that too far?

Security issues are huge already, now we have to worry about some nuts running around the stadium or arena ready to intrude on the event?

Dangerous? Disrespectful? Daring? ... Whatever, throw the book at them.

I'd bet good money that the gate crasher broke the law by trespassing.

The problem I have with tipping our hats to the "creativity" of companies like this is most of us could be significantly more creative if we were willing to break laws. Obviously, one's options are more limited when adhering to the norms of society, let alone its laws.

Well said.

It's actually better to have non-hostiles jump the line like that. Now they'll keep their eyes open.

Thats it fella's stay in that straight little line, inside that box...Listen to all the rules they give you carefully and follow them all with out straying....C'mon guys, when they pull these pranks they are funny...Im sorry if your so uptight you cant see any humor at all in it, and compare it to things like its the end all be all...If anything about the whole situation was disruptive, Id say that would be the Olympics as a whole, It completely disrupted my TV viewing schedule for those 2 weeks....I would have much rather watched "Deal or NoDeal"...lol

I think you missed the point.

I think all of us respect creative thinking. But when one is willing to step outside the boundaries of what most people would deem acceptable or even break laws, then being creative just became a whole lot easier. It's like playing baseball and now saying there are no more foul lines -- it becomes a lot easier to get on base.

Or here's another example that just occured while I was typing this. For the past two weeks I've been inundated with spam for Viagra and Cialis. (I don't know if someone's been talking to my wife.... :o) Somehow, they figured how to get by the spam blocker. When I highlight the word 'Viagra' it also highlights an equal amount of gibberish in the message, so obviously the word becomes more than 'Viagra' and thus eludes the blocker.

Should we be proud of them going outside the box to evade spam blockers? Let's skip the fact it's illegal to send spam, because it costs businesses inordinate amounts of money in server space and lost productivity. All I know is I'll never buy from them, but it still wastes my time to check what email arrived only to find it was worthless spam that I then have to tell Outlook to flag as junk next time. Worse yet, some of them have had attachments that are hidden, which probably aren't there with good intentions.

Or how about con artists who have found possible loopholes in local laws and effectively stolen homes from the elderly and then kicked them out. I've heard people express admiration for their shrewd behavior and I think, "What are you talking about?? They just cheated someone out of their house!"

Do I rank what what GoldenPalace did with these examples? Not the con artists, but similar to the unwanted intrusion of spam. Was it funny? Given they paid someone to jump on stage, it was nowhere near as funny as the guy who became famous for sneaking into major events by impersonating refs or other officials.

I agree with you. Who knows, I might have found it funny if the guy wasn't wearing a GP.com t-shirt -- but commercialized disruptions are stupid.
