Mission skate sizing

I wear an 8D on inline mission skates but according to hockeymonkey they are a half size small on ice skates and other sites they are true to size. I plan on swithing to ice so just want to get an idea if i should stick with an 8 or not.

try a pair on at a LHS. even if online places may give you ability to exchange for a different size (don't even know if they do that), they still will make you pay shipping

the skates really don't fit to your shoe size unless you are size 11 shoe and up...On average, our skates run 1/2 to a full size down from you shoe...I personally wear a 10 shoe and a 8.5 skate.

If you are wearing an 8 Type M, I would probably go to a size 8.5 at the biggest....

I found Mission to be 1/2 to 1 size smaller than shoe size - I take a 10 running shoe and fit a 9 in mission skates. I could never imagine buying skates without trying them on, but maybe you're easier to fit than I am.

I wear 11.5 Nike shoes and my Mission skates are 11.5 also. I could probably squeeze into an 11 though.

Actually they're 10s now and the S500s are a bit snug while the Fuels are a little larger. With Nike I need an 11.5 but most of their shoes aren't wide enough for me so I don't wear them. I don;t consider any sneaker to be a "real" shoe size. They're all over the board in terms of sizing.

Try them on at your local LHS like supermanly said. I wear 9.5 to 10 street shoes and my L5's are 9.5D. Also, you may or may not like the way they feel on your foot, which is more important. Don't buy based on price alone.
