Shipping blades, sticks, shafts?

Recommended Posts

How much does it cost to ship a shaft from Canada to other parts of Canada or the USA? I've tried looking for a quote on Canada Post's website but they don't give quotes for an item with such awkward dimensions. I want to put up a shaft on eBay but I'm not sure how much shipping is going to cost. Anyone care to share their experiences? Thanks.

I've done it anywhere from $7--> $15 CAD throw it up with a $15 USD shipping quote on there, and you can refund however much is needed afterwards. Wrap it in a garbage bag to keep the weight down.

These are the prices that I usually find.

Blades are usually $8-10cdn

Shafts are around $20cdn

I just shipped a OPS for $30cdn to the states.

EDIT: Oh, and I'm like Eazy, I wrap the stuff in garbage bags.

It's key to keep it under 500 grams as well.

Awesome info, Eazy!

Any tip for orders to different parts of the world (other than your expensive DHL and FedEx)?

In the US the only economical method is the Post Office -- I would assume Canada to be the same.

For instance, I quoted either a stick or skates the other day to the UK. It would cost $42 via the PO, versus $118 or $125 via UPS. It would probably take 4 days longer; if the time doesn't matter, the difference is striking.

I forgot to add, can everyone also mention which service they use? When I ship things I sell online I always like to have a confirmation number and insurance.

I always ship via Canada Post.

Which specific service(s) do you use? I remember buying shafts from you before but I don't remember the actual service. Do you always ship with confirmation numbers and insurance?

90% of the time I'll ship sticks Xpresspost, it comes with $100 insurance, tracking number, and is a little quicker. Usually it's only $1-2 more than regular, and you get all of those extras. Other cases I'll ship via Airmail (only available on certain items) and there aren' tracking numbers, but is garaunteed. I usually only do this for blades, infact I think it's the only thing that fits into the Airparcel category.
