Warped Chassis

Recommended Posts

I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem: I always seem to warp my chassis. Basically, the chassis is closed in a bit at the back end and opened up at the front. My wheels obviously don't spin very well either. Just for info's sake, I weigh 225 and skate on Mission HE950's. I obviously chose the 950 because of the strength of magnesium alloy versus aluminum. Any help would be appreciated!

I've had similar problems with the chassis bending inwards, rubbing against the wheels. Not sure if you could do the same, but I would take a pair of Vice grips and slowly bend the frame back into place.

You're a heavy dude, so try those old school flat 76mm chassis, like final factor.

i only found one of those online - for like 285 bucks. any other suggestions for heavy guys? im basically the same weight and i have trouble getting my skates to roll well, i always have trouble with frames, axles, bearings etc. i just cant find skates that just roll well. i actually prefer flat frames, i wouldnt mind trying the final frames if i could find some that werent so expensive.

i have final factor frames brand new never been used . $50.00+shipping??? what size r u after?

mrciv

i wear 11.5 sneakers if that helps. the only deals i have found were for smaller i believe. im interested in the final frames if you have my size.

thanks for info stranger - but i like i said im bigger than that. are those the frames that require spacers between wheel and frame? mrciv, do the final frames require that as well?

I don't understand how you are warping chassis at 220. I weigh in that neighborhood (220-230), and have never in my life warped or bent a chassis off of weight alone. The Finals would be good, Sure Grip will have you scrambling for the crappy plastic frame spacers in a hearbeat, Labedas would be good as well. That being said, have you tried the Hummer? The deal Tour has going where you send them your skates, 98 dollars and shipping and they mount it for you isn't a bad deal and might be very worthwhile.

i have the beemers right now, and im having some problems already (had them 3 months). one of the cross supports inside the frame has snapped already (hasnt hurt much really), and the axles constantly pop out, even though i use locktite. also, i have to not crank down on the axle or it crimps the wheel, and if i dont crank down theyre poppin out in a shift or two. they just dont roll all that well, which also might be a bearing issue as i put a lot of side weight on mine.

crappy then. Sure Grip 505 would be good, either the Final Factor of Final Force, I also see theseMission Generator And they're some of the best I ever used.

Maybe its his skating style....

so what are you saying, i skate like a pregnant yak? ;)

its true, big guys arent all that graceful but i still play at the advanced rec level and occasional tourney play. i dont bend my knees enough, but i get around well enough. for tghe record, the original poster had the warped chassis, mine just dont roll all that well.

And that could be a number of things: Your bearings are shot, they aren't seated properly, the chassis is bent, etc.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Just for the record, i cannot see the warping on this chassis, as i have been able to with others. I know it is warped slightly from when i try to change my wheels. I don't know about pregnant yak, but i do tend to do my fair share of spins and hockey stops, I am sure that has something to do with it.
