Humm'r Chassis and Mini Bearings

Recommended Posts

Anyone with Tour Beemers, Blue Max, Red Max, Silver Max, etc, have a hard time with putting mini bearings onto the Humm'r chassis?

Cool man. Thanks. I wonder if Chuck Norris needs mini bearings?

Haha. You ever hear those Chuck Norris things on Conan O'Brien. Something like, "Chuck Norris once at 5 72oz steaks in a row, and then asked where the main course was." Those crack me up.

I've got Beemers rigged up with Mission mini abec 7s and the spacers that came with them, and Rink Rant MB816's. I've been skating twice a week on these wheels for approximately a month now, and the wheels, bearings, and spacers were all brand new when I installed them on the skates.

I'm having an issue with the inside shield of the bearings rubbing against the spacers and I already have a few bearings that are beginning to stick. My theory is that the chassis is tightening a bit too much and squeezing the bearings and spacer together, causing the spacer to gouge into the bearing shield. I don't like skating with my wheels loose in the chassis as I have had issues with the wheels falling out while skating (on a breakaway once).

My question is has anyone experienced this before, and if anyone has any ideas (other than loosening the wheels) that might remedy the problem. Maybe I should be using different spacers? Is it just a design flaw in either the chassis or the bearing/spacer setup? (They're old "wicked spin" bearings that I picked up on eBay). Any help would be appreciated.

I have had similar problems with the 05 RR Hornets with 608 bearings.I found excess material left inside wheel hub was contacting the bearing spacer.Used a Dremel tool to remove excess material and no problems. Also you want to check the spacer lengths if there too short the bearings goes into bind if there too long the wheel will slide side to side on the bearings causing a clicking sound.
