Synergy SL cut line for tapered shaft

my blade is breaking on my SL grip. I had the shaft cut down about 1 inch when it was new. i was planning on cutting it off when the blade breaks and putting the graphite butt back in the stick. where is the cut off line around these to use tapered blades? i can see a line but not sure where to cut.

Search function usually will tell you where to cut it as there has been tons of topics about this. I cut mine about 1.5-2 inches above the fuse point.

would a tapered blade actually fit at the cut fused point? or do you really have to cut above it?

No, because there is a bunch of stuff you have to get out, and nearly impossible to.
