How to remove gold lettering on graf skates

I wanna remove the lettering to give them that all black boot look.... does someone know of a proguct to do this?

It'd look tacky.

Try shoe dye or edge cleaner.

on my first pair: I used one type of toe-pro, worked great, looked perfect. Next pair: used different type of toe pro, looked clumpy, stuck out, looked horrible. You can use toe-pro but it's a gamble on the kind you get, some work well, some are real bad.

You can use an SOS sponge, but don't rub too hard or it'll scratch it up.

I bought a pair of 707s on eBay, w/o the huge logo on them, and they looked sharp. Its definitely worth trying if you have the 707s.

Past posts re lettering on gloves said to use Nail Polish Remover. I assume it would also work on skates, right????

When I ordered my 705's I made sure to have no writing put on the boots. Just be careful using some products because on my 735s I tried to remove the writing and the boot became slightly discoloured with the leather cleaner/spot remover I used.

a kid i know has a pair of 703's and used nail polish remover on the back worked great. removed the letters with out and problem,but i personally think it doesnt look to good. i like it better with the lettering on them.

Ya, but then the gold starts to wear off and the skates look Ghetto. ;)
